Mission

REVISED BYLAWS OF KOREAN INSTITUTE OF MINNESOTA

The KOREAN INSTITUTE OF MINNESOTA (KIM) was established in 1975 to help Korean families and children living in Minnesota.

From 1975 to 2014 KIM’s mission was to provide people with heritage language education; social and cultural skills training; a Korean language and culture library; and counseling services to assist in securing jobs, to preserve ethnic and cultural values, and to advocate the rights and interests of Koreans living in Minnesota.

KIM’s vision remains to develop and increase awareness and understanding of Korean culture to all.

KIM’s Mission is:

  • To provide knowledge, pride and understanding of Korea's culture and people;
  • To teach Korean language with the basis that being multilingual is desirable in our global society;
  • To provide a resource center for people with links to Korea and their families and friends, educators and the community at large.
